Wendy's side of the room was packed up, she'd made sure certain photos would be delivered to Edmund when he got back, and sent anything that wouldn't fit in the car on ahead. She wasn't sure how exactly she'd explain acquiring as much stuff as she did while on a "short retreat in Nepal", but she'd manage.

[Wendy's going awaaaaaaaaaay. Open.]

"Especially ones with the weight of the galaxy on their shoulders," Ben decided.

"Exactly, you're doing them a favour by distracting them."

"He should be more grateful, really," Ben said with a smile. "So what are your plans at home?"

"Well, for starters I have a boyfriend that I've seen exactly once in the past year," Wendy said. "And who knows how much work I have to catch up on."

Ben wrinkled up his nose. "You sound like my cousin."

"But does your cousins work involve comic book evil?" Wendy asked. "Because otherwise I think I'm ahead of the game."

"No, just regular evil," Ben said.

"Comic book evil's a lot more interesting," Wendy said. "Even if it hurts your brain more."

[momslilassassin]

"I think my brain's hurt enough," he said with a smile.

"This place'll do that to you."

[momslilassassin]

"You know you'll miss it," he teased.

[notahostage]

"Of course I will," Wendy said. "Home doesn't have any adorable wee Jedi running around just some of shout outs."

Ben blushed. "I'm not adorable."

"You need a couple more years before I'll feel comfortable using anything else to describe you," Wendy said. "Especially when you blush."

"I've changed my mind," he said with a tiny smile. "I won't miss you at all."

Wendy sighed dramatically. "The youth of today, no respect."

The effect was ruined by her own smile.

"I hear that a lot," Ben said. "Are you going to tell me to get off your lawn?"

"Right after I get my walker out."

[momslilassassin]

"It's good to have lists," Ben said. "I hear that old people forget stuff unless it's written down."

"Who are you again?"

[momslilassassin]

"My name is Ben," he said. "You're supposed to leave me huge sums of money as you go."

[notahostage]

"Right, just as soon as I remember where I left my wallet."

[momslilassassin]

"Over on the dresser," Ben made up.

"Oh, that one over there?" Wendy asked, staggering over to it.
